This update is a personal take on the status of the UI/UX Design area of AsyncAPI Initiative and will be in reference to the following repos:
See the table below for issues that have been added to the design area this month
Issue | Area | Issue Description |
---|---|---|
‣ | Branding | It was brought to my attention that we should also have logo assets and guidelines around the AsyncAPI brand mark itself. |
‣ | Website Design | Ace is working on a new page dedicated to the community and we are looking for visual design contributions to improve the current implementation! |
See the table below for issues/PRs in this area that are currently in progress.
Issue | Area | Issue Update |
---|---|---|
‣ | Product Design | If you read last month’s update, you should be aware of this issue already. We are still in the process of dialing down how exactly we should craft the experience of the payload object output to make sure it can cater to a bunch of different use cases. If you are interested in contributing to this issue in the form of feedback/design, feel free to jump in there! |
‣ | Product Design | @yashsehgal is in the process of implementing the design that he came up with for a new onboarding process that we are adding to the AsyncAPI Studio. The goal for adding this feature is to promote discoverability of what is possible in the Studio. There are a lot of great features that I feel like are a bit hidden, so this Onboarding popup would highlight these great features. |
‣ | Product Design | We are in the process of defining what UI components we have currently for ToolingUI, which is the system of components being used in AsyncAPI UI tools (so far all we have is the AsyncAPI Studio). The goal of the audit in this issue is to understand what we already have and what we might need to add to start building a system of components. |
‣ | Website Design | @Ace started implementing the design that I provided for the 2022 conference website, and it is looking FANTASTIC, but we still have some work to do. If you are interested in helping with the responsive design of this website, hop into the issue and start leaving your ideas! |
